Banbridge Horticultural Society February Meeting Well Supported Banbridge Horticultural Society’s February meeting was well supported, with members turning out in strong numbers for an enjoyable and informative evening. The guest speaker was David McCreedy, who delivered a fascinating talk on birds in the garden. His presentation offered practical advice on attracting garden birds, providing suitable habitats, and supporting local wildlife throughout the year. The talk was warmly received and sparked great interest among those present, making it another successful and well-attended meeting for the society.

Banbridge Horticultural Society March Meeting a Great Success The March meeting of Banbridge Horticultural Society proved to be a resounding success, with 51 members and guests in attendance. The society was delighted to welcome David Maxwell, well known as the presenter of BBC Gardeners' Corner, who delivered a fascinating and informative talk on Irish roses. Mr Maxwell shared his expert knowledge, practical advice, and passion for gardening, offering insights into varieties suited to Irish conditions, cultivation tips, and the history behind some of Ireland’s most beautiful roses. His engaging presentation was warmly received by all present and sparked plenty of interest and discussion. The evening was enjoyed by everyone and marked another successful and well-attended event for the society.


6th September 2025 - 61st Annual Show in conjunction with Dromore Bee Keepers Society

Preparations for our annual show began on Friday 5th at 2.00 in the big hall. Tables were unfolded and carefully positioned for maximum impact before being covered with white paper. Black staging boards were lined up beneath the stage and then began the tricky job of partitioning and labelling the various sections for vegetables and floral displays. Anyone is welcome to join Banbridge Horticultural Society – just contact any of our members or check our Facebook page for more info.
